Ultraviolet light (UV-light) causes colors to fade.
UV-light is naturally present in sunlight and can also be present in artificial light
including halogen lamps and common fluorescent lamps.
The photographs below show examples of Pez dispensers damaged by UV-light.
Pinks and reds are the most vulnerable to UV-light damage.
Our Clear Dust Cover, custom made for our Hanging Rack for pez dispensers, is made from a
unique acrylic plastic that will filter 98% of all damaging ultraviolet light. And the plastic's filtering characteristics does not degrade over time.

Un-retouched Photo Pez Dino on right was in direct sunlight for *less than 9 months.*	Un-retouched Photo Pez Piglet on right was in direct sunlight for *less than 9 months.*
Un-retouched Photo Pez Pink Panther on right was in direct sunlight for *less than 9 months.*	Un-retouched Photo Pez Easter Bunny was in *indirect* sunlight less than 3 years. Pink stem has faded. The pink band at the top of the stem, an area protected by the museum's display, is the original color.
